Oppo, the Chinese brand has won hearts with their smartphone, Oppo N1. The phone which is an Android hybrid comes with some amazing features and specifications and is targeted at the premium segment in India.

Oppo N1 comes with many unique features and is a beauty in the design segment. The smartphone's key feature is the camera. However, it is not the clarity or the pixel count that matter here but a rather unique feature (which we shall come to shortly) that make the smartphone stand apart.

Oppo N1 runs on Cyanogenmod which is an Android Jelly Bean version 4.3 based OS. The free OS is developed by Cyanogen and is an open operating platform. The version is a limited edition version according to a tweet by the company's Indian handle. Apart from the limited version, Oppo N1 runs on Color UI, which is Oppo's inhouse OS developed and based on Android Jelly bean version 4.2.

Oppo N1 comes with a fully HD IPS LCD display screen. The 5.9-inch display makes it one of the larger-than-life smartphones. The display resolution is 1080p at 1080 x 1920 pixels with 373 ppi. The display is one of the best out there and there's no comparison. It is one of the best features of the phone totally boast-worthy. Furthermore, the phone is also touch-sensitive at the back and supports actions like long-press and sliding through the back panel.

Under the hood of the Oppo N1 runs a Quad-core 1.7 GHz chipset. The phone in India is available in just one internal memory variant, which is the 16 GB variant. And 16 GB is all you get as the phone does not support expansion. Perhaps the only negative in a device so brilliant otherwise. However, when will all those hard-drives and USB devices be put to use, eh?

The phone comes with 2 GB RAM and on the hardware front, the phone covers all bases spectacularly. The non-expandable memory is definitely a major concern but if storing your world on your smartphone is not your priority then we guess you'll do just fine without the memory card slot.

Coming to the highlight of the device, the camera. Oppo N1 comes with a 13 Mp camera with dual-LED flash. The camera can rotate by upto 206 degrees and can be locked at any angle. So now, there's no need for an additional front-end camera as the rear cam with dual LED flash works just as great. The Oppo N1 camera rivals that of Nokia Lumia 1020 with a larger F/2.0 aperture being the only notable difference. Apart from the regular modes, there's a unique 'Beauty Mode' which captures images in portrait and enhances them to reduce wrinkles, skin defects and/or present make-up options.

The phone supports HD video-recording but 4k recording has been skipped. The phone is available only in white colour in India. Oppo N1 comes with a whopping 3610 battery and all the connectivity options bundled in.

The phone is targeted at the premium segment and at Rs 39,999 is one the best buys in the country. There's no real negative to the smartphone and considering Oppo N1 is clearly the coolest new thing which outdoes the Oppo Find 5 by a mile, we really have nothing more to add. A drool-worthy phone for sure!
