The Nokia Asha 501, which is the first of a new generation of affordable smartphones to run on the fast, fluid and all-new Asha platform, goes on sale this week in Thailand and Pakistan, with India sales soon to follow. Ever since we first laid our eyes on the gorgeous Nokia Asha 501 at the launch event in New Delhi last month, we have been incredibly excited about this device. It has a colourful, durable and seamless industrial design, combined with a new swipe interface called Fastlane, which means that you are never far away from accessing all the important things that you love, such as your social networks, games, music and favourite apps. In short, the Nokia Asha 501 is a tremendous value smartphone that is the perfect marriage between style and substance. Global salesNext week, the rollout will continue in India and progress onto countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and Asia Pacific. In late summer, the Nokia Asha 501 will start selling in Latin American countries like Brazil. The phone is available in six striking colours: cyan, bright red, yellow, bright green, black and white. It retails for approximately $99 before local taxes and subsidies. AccessoriesIn the box with the Nokia Asha 501 comes the Nokia Stereo Headset WH-208, a new wired headset, designed to blend in with the rest of the Nokia product family. There's also the ability to buy and replace the Asha 501's brightly-coloured shells, allowing for even more personalisation. From the Nokia 105, to the Nokia Asha 501, to the Nokia Lumia 720, it's clear that we're designing all of our products to look distinctively 'Nokia'. The new WH-208 headset pumps stereo sound through its in-ear buds while helping you to stand out from the crowd, thanks to the bold neon red* colour – a perfect match for the bright red Nokia Asha 501, and a pleasant contrast to the rest of the Asha 501 colour range. [*Also available in black.] If you've got another headset you love to use on other devices, the chances are, it will work on the Nokia Asha 501, too. In addition to the WH-208, the Nokia Asha 501 has interchangeable back covers – called the CC-3070. As standard, you'll receive with the phone one back cover in your chosen colour. The first one will also match the colour of the little button on the back of the phone that, when pressed, helps you pop off the cover. If you want to mix it up and change the colour of your Nokia Asha 501, the CC-3070 is available in other colours and will have an RRP of €8.90. via Technology - Google News http://news.google.com/news/url?sa=t&fd=R&usg=AFQjCNHgeL_bEsso1WzK3Wn0j0RkDxvMyw&url=http://conversations.nokia.com/2013/06/24/nokia-asha-501-starts-worldwide-roll-out/ | |||
