Gionee is teasing the launch of its forthcoming Elife E6 smartphone on Facebook. Gionee India shared an image of the upcoming smartphone on its Facebook page that describes the Elife E6 as "quite the looker", even if the company says so itself. It also shared some specs of Elife E6 that indicate the smartphone will be powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor and will sport a 5.0-inch 'Retina' display. It is interesting to see the company use the term 'Retina', that is generally used by Apple to describe the display on its products like the iPhone and iPad. The term represents a display that is of such high pixel density, that it's impossible to differentiate between individual pixels using the naked eye. In that respect, almost all modern full-HD smartphones are 'Retina', even if most manufacturers don't use that term to describe their displays. Gionee Elife E6 will also come with a 13-megapixel rear camera, the Facebook post revealed. The company said that the phone will be launched in Beijing on July 10 by Gionee International. There's no word yet on when the phone will make its way to India, or what will be its price. However, another Facebook post by Gionee India says that the company will be launching three new devices in the "coming weeks", and one of the devices pictured is the same Elife E6 teaser image that the company posted earlier, so one can expect it to launch, well, in the "coming weeks." Earlier in the day, the Chinese company launched a new smartphone that comes with a 4.5-inch display of resolution 480*854 and is powered by a 1.2GHz Cortex A7 quad-core processor alongside 512MB RAM and PowerVR Series5XT GPU. Gionee CTRL V4 is dual-SIM, dual-standby phone that runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and is available for Rs. 9,999. via Technology - Google News http://news.google.com/news/url?sa=t&fd=R&usg=AFQjCNG7kKyqE0_K6hiLwhdZbCLqNIE0nw&url=http://gadgets.ndtv.com/mobiles/news/gionee-elife-e6-with-50-inch-retina-display-13-megapixel-camera-to-launch-on-july-10-383562 | |||
