In January 2013, Micromax came up with its phablet offering - A116 Canvas HD and sizzled the tech space in the country. Following it, several companies have started coming up with their own phablets that are also equipped with similar high-end specs in order to cope up with the competition. One of the budget tech manufacturers in India, Zen has launched a slew of Android devices in the country. Now, the company has forayed into the phablet market with the launch of Ultrafone 701 HD at Rs 11,999. The phablet houses a quad core processor as the Canvas HD. Zen Ultrafone 701 HD - Key Specifications Specwise, Ultrafone 701 HD features a 5 inch HD IPS capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, 1.2GHz quad core MediaTek MT6589 processor, 4GB internal storage, 1GB RAM, micro SD card slot, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS, 8MP rear camera with LED flash and BSI sensor, 3.2MP front camera, Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth, GPS with A-GPS and a 2,000 mAh battery. As recent market surveys have analyzed that the Android 4.1 and 4.2 versions of Jelly Bean operating system is being largely adopted, several Jelly Bean models have started appearing in the market. Moreover, the study claims that the platform is present in over 10% of active hardware globally. Eventually, the low cost tech manufacturers have started adopting Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on to their budget smartphones and tablets. However, some vendors including Zen have also launched new devices or upgraded their offerings to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
