Apple iPhone 5S battery problem has affected many thousands handsets and Apple will replace affected handsets. This will be a major relief to the people who got the issue in their handsets.
iPhone 5S without doubt is among the best handsets available in the market. It has beaten all other handsets by a wide margin when it comes to being the highest selling smartphone. To be true, in the one month's time Apple's top selling device of the time will be beating Korean tech giant Samsung's Galaxy S4's 40 million mark.
Before iPhone 5S' launch in the market mid-September Galaxy S4 was the highest selling handset in top three cellular networks. But now it does occupy even second spot on a single network. On other top three networks iPhone 5S lords over other handsets followed by its lower end handset iPhone 5C that comes in an impressive plastic body. Mind you it is not a cheap looking plastic handset as is the case with some top Android handset, but build quality looks prime. In the meantime iPhone 5S battery issue is going to haunt Apple. After not giving heed to initial complaints the Cupertino based company has not just admitted that it is an issue in a few handset but has also initiated the process of replacing handsets that reportedly faced the issue.
People whose handsets have been affected by the battery issue are a relieved lot. To be true hardware malfunction in some handsets or similar electronic items are not uncommon and many companies have faced similar issues in the past. Even Apple faced some issues with its iPhone 4 when it faced antenna problems and had to give cases to millions of its buyers. But later the issue was sorted out and Apple no longer gave cases with its handset. So these issues are not uncommon and as we know the problem is restricted to a small percentage of iPhone 5S handsets sold thus far. Apple is planning to replace thousands of iPhone 5S after receiving complains related to the battery. Admitting that a manufacturing defect has caused shortened battery life and longer charging times in the latest iPhones, the Cupertino based giant said that they are drawing up a plan to recall the affected devices.
The way Apple has accepted the fault is going to make people fall in love with it. Elaborating further Apple spokesperson Teresa Brewer, said: "We recently discovered a manufacturing issue affecting a very limited number of iPhone 5S devices that could cause the battery to take longer to charge or result in reduced battery life. We are reaching out to customers with affected phones and will provide them with a replacement phone." Even thpough the company refrained from giving an exact number of devices that might be affected due to the defect, it is estimated that the number might run into thousands. Since its launch, the company has sold more than 9 million iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c smartphones across the globe.
