Windows XP users unwilling to move to Windows 8 - Times of India

WASHINGTON: Windows XP users are reportedly reluctant to abandon the existing operating system in order to move onto Windows 8.

The plans of killing Windows XP's and promoting Windows 8 were both put on hold in January, after XP's user share plunged and Windows 8's swelled during December.

Windows XP increased its share by a quarter of a percentage point in January, ending the month at 29.2 percent of all desktop and notebook computers worldwide, the PC World reported.

Meanwhile, Microsoft has been constantly issuing warnings to its customers asking them to get off Windows XP as it plans to withdraw XP support on April 8, 2014.
