Nokia's Lumia 1320 mid-range smartphone will be released in the UK next month with the phablet-sized offering showing up on the Carphone Warehouse site alongside a tentative release date.

The budget offering, which was unveiled back in October alongside the Lumia 1520 and 2520, will be available through the retailer in February 2014 and there is currently no word on how much the device will set back consumers.

In terms of specifications the smartphone has a 6in 720p HD display with a pixel density of 245ppi. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor that reaches speeds of 1.7GHz with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of onboard storage that can be upgraded to 64GB using the microSD card slot.

The device also has a 5-megapixel camera on the rear with LED flash, 4G LTE connectivity and the whole show is powered by a 3,400mAh. The Lumia 1320 is available in orange, yellow, black and white in other markets with no indication as to what colours will arrive in the UK.

It is designed to be a budget version of the Lumia 1520 phablet that was released alongside it back in October and as such the pricing across the pond in the US is $339 [£210] unlocked with a similar pricing policy expected when it is released in the UK.

Nokia's Lumia range of devices have been pivotal in helping to raise the profile of Microsoft's Windows Phone OS and both are now under one roof after the latter agreed to purchase Nokia's devices business for some £3.2 billion.

Kantar Worldpanel ComTech figures released earlier on this month showed that sales of smartphones running the OS more than doubled in the UK in the three months to November 2013 compared to the same period in 2012. That followed earlier figures that showed the OS accounted for 9.8 per cent of all sales across Germany, France, Spain, Italy and the UK.
