Micromax Canvas Turbo Mini with Android 4.2, 720p display launched for Rs ... - Firstpost

Keeping up with the trend of mini versions of premium smartphones, a smaller version of Micromax's Canvas Turbo hit headlines earlier this week. After giving us a glimpse of the device, Micromax has finally listed the Canvas Turbo Mini A200 on popular e-tailer Flipkart, for a price of Rs 14,490. However, the listing states "Out of stock" and hasn't mentioned anything about the availability of the device, so we are guessing this is a soft launch of the phone.

The site has listed a blue and a white model of the device. Unlike its big brother, the Canvas Turbo Mini sports a 4.69-inch display with 1028 x 720 pixels of resolution. Under the hood, it is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core (Either a MediaTek or Broadcom chipset) processor and 1GB of RAM. The 4GB onboard storage can be expanded further up to 32GB via microSD card slot. On the camera front, one will find an 8-megapixel rear snapper and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. All of this is fueled by an 1800 mAh battery that promises to deliver up to 6.5 hours of talktime. The connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi, Dual SIM, Bluetooth, and A-GPS.

In terms of design, the smartphone resembles the Canvas Turbo, but it's rather disappointing when it comes to the specs. Except for improvements in the processor and camera, looks like the rest of the specs have been picked from the Canvas HD. It should be noted that currently the Canvas HD retails around Rs 13,000 and the Canvas Turbo around Rs 16,000. More importantly however, the Canvas Turbo Mini will compete directly with the Lava Iris Pro 30, as they are both nearly identical on paper.
