Maruti Suzuki to recall 1492 vehicles comprising of Ertiga, Swift, Dzire and the A ... - Economic Times

NEW DELHI: Country's largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki India announced recall of 1492 vehicles comprising of Ertiga, Swift, Dzire and the A-Star hatchback models manufactured between 19th October 2013 and 26th October 2013.

The company will replace the defective steering column free of cost in these vehicles. The recall exercise is limited to these specific models sold in the domestic market and no affect any of the cars exported from India. The new steering column has been despatched to dealer workshops and Maruti Suzuki dealers will contact owners of all concerned vehicles.

"Users of Ertiga, Swift, Dzire and A-Star purchased after 19th October this year have been informed. Customers may also contact the nearest Maruti Suzuki dealer workshop to ascertain if their vehicle is among the above vehicles," the company said in a statement.

Maruti customers can also go online to fill in the chassis number followed by 14 digit alpha-numeric number on the computer screen to ascertain if their vehicles part of the recall.

The company shared details and said that 306 units of Ertiga MPV, 592 Swift hatchback, 581 Dzire compact sedan and 13 A-Star compact car have been affected by the steering problem and are covered under this recall.
