Facebook appears to be testing a feature that will allow users to save links for reading later.

Leaked screenshots showing the option in the drop-down apps menu have appeared on technology blog MyTechSkool.

The feature will potentially allow users to place shared links from their Newsfeed into a separate 'saved' menu to revisit at a more convenient time.

Facebook has been rumored to introduce RSS reader-like features for some time, with reports claiming that code for this functionality has been discovered in the social network's apps.

Mark Zuckerberg's firm has taken steps to encourage users to read and share articles on Facebook as part of its efforts to transform the service into a "personalised newspaper".

Facebook is yet to confirm plans to roll out the 'read later' feature on a wide scale.
