With tablets gaining momentum in the Indian market, Lenovo India has announced a range of tablets running on Android and Windows 8 operating systems and "catering to all segments".

The Lenovo A1000 is priced at Rs 9,999 and targeted at first-time tablet buyer. This 7inch tablet with 1024x600p display comes with Music Master with Dolby Audio dual speakers. Running Android Jelly Bean v4.1, it has a 1.2GHz dual-core processor with 16GB internal storage with support for up to 32GB.  The phone has a SIM slot for voice calling and is Wi-Fi enabled.

The Lenovo A3000 is also a 7-inch tablet with a 1024x600p IPS panel. But it has a 1.2GHz quad core processor and support for expandable memory of up to 64GB and a 5MP rear camera. There is also an optional 3G support. The higher processor, memory and 3G mean this tablet costs Rs 16,000.

Lenovo calls the S6000 a  Home Entertainment Center as it has got a 10.1-inch display with 1280x800p resolution. Weighing 560 grams, this one is also powered by 1.2GHz quad core processor, 3G, WiFi, micro HDMI port and an optional Bluetooth keyboard dock. But this one will cost Rs 27,000.  

On Windows front, Lenovo has launched the ThinkPad Tablet 2 and the IdeaPad Lynx K3011. The  10.1-inch ThinkPad Tablet 2 is a Windows 8 tablet, while the Lynx K3011 is a hybrid with a 11.6 inch display. The former packs in an Intel Atom Processor Z2760 dual-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz with 2GB RAM whereas the Lynx comes with Intel Clover Trail-W dual core 1.8GHz processor with 2G RAM. The ThinkPad tablet 2 is priced at Rs 50,000+ taxes and the Lynx K3011 comes with the price tag of Rs 51,990.

"The tablet segment in India has shown significant growth in the last few quarters. As a true PC+ player, and as a part of our overall four screen strategy, we have launched five tablets at one go,"  said Shailendra Katyal, Director, Consumer Business, Lenovo India.
