DMRC launches smartphone application - Economic Times

NEW DELHI: Delhi Metro today launched a smartphone mobile application which will give information useful for its commuters.

The application works with internet or GPRS and provides information with GPS availability for passengers.

This application can be downloaded on 'IPhones' and 'Android' smartphones with facilities to download the latest version of the application.

"Using this application, Metro passengers will be able to search the nearest Metro station, fares for desired travel, information for timings about the first and last train at stations, parking information, travel time for their journey, Metro route information and the Metro map," Mangu Singh, Managing Director DMRC, said while launching this facility.

It will also provide information on landmarks and tourist spots near stations, address and contact number of 'Lost & Found' cell, details of feeder bus services available at the stations with their routes, details about Metro Museum, DMRC Helpline number for assistance, suggestion, complaint and feedback, security helpline number to be contacted during emergency/security threat.

The application can be downloaded directly from DMRC's website www.delhimetrorail.com.
