It seems that hackers have been wanting to make 2013 a special year. After it was revealed that Twitter and Facebook experienced cyberattacks, it is the turn of software giant, Microsoft. In a statement on the Microsoft Security Response Center blog, Microsoft's Matt Thomlinson, General Manager, Trustworthy Computing Security, said, "As reported by Facebook and Apple, Microsoft can confirm that we also recently experienced a similar security intrusion. During our investigation, we found a small number of computers, including some in our Mac business unit, that were infected by malicious software using techniques similar to those documented by other organizations." Microsoft revealed that it has no evidence of customer data being affected and that its investigation is ongoing. "This type of cyberattack is no surprise to Microsoft and other companies that must grapple with determined and persistent adversaries," said Thomlinson. via Technology - Google News http://news.google.com/news/url?sa=t&fd=R&usg=AFQjCNFPCSJYoHzuQ2bit94SU6ZX1z0DSQ&url=http://www.informationweek.in/security/13-02-23/after_twitter_and_facebook_microsoft_experiences_cyberattack.aspx | |||
