A report from this Friday claimed that the Nokia X had surpassed over 1 million pre orders within just four days in China. However, it has now come to light that this was merely a pre registration page. Entering your credentials and pressing the button would be considered a pre order, without actually requiring a commitment. A contest from a local retailer reportedly led to the massive interest in the device as a free Nokia X was being promised to a lucky user who presses the pre order button.
Moreover, this page allows users to pre order the device in as many colors as they want. So it is clear that Nokia's wide claims of surpassing 1 million pre orders in China aren't exactly true. This however doesn't take away the demand for the company's new flagship, although we're sure there were better ways of endorsing its upcoming product as the company could come under severe public scrutiny after this revelation.
The smartphone packs a 4 inch 480 x 800 resolution display, a 3.15 megapixel camera, a dual core 1 GHz Snapdragon S4 Play chipset, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of storage, Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean with the company's custom user interface with several "exclusive" apps and a 1,500 mAh battery.
