Karbonn launches octa-core Titanium Octane & Octane Plus smartphones - Economic Times

NEW DELHI: Heating up competition in the smartphone arena, Karbonn on Wednesday launched a new range of smartphones, the Titanium Hexa, Titanium Octane and Titanium Octane Plus.

While the Titanium Octane has been priced at Rs 14,490, Titanium Octane Plus and Titanium Hexa will cost Rs 17,990 and Rs 16,990 respectively. All three smartphones run on the Android 4.4 KitKat Operating Software.

While both Titanium Hexa, Titanium Octane boast of a 13 mega-pixel rear camera, the Titanium Octane Plus has a 16 MP camera. The front-facing camera in both Titanium Hexa and Titanium Octane is of 5 MP, while that in Titanium Octane Plus is of 8MP.

All three smartphones have a 16 GB internal storage. Karbonn Titanium Hexa, Titanium Octane and Titanium Octane Plus will be ready for shipping from the last week of April 2014.

The connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS with Voice Assistance. The new range of smartphones support Dual SIM options.

For the launch of these three smartphones, Karbonn has tied up with MediaTek. Meditek will provide Karbonn the hexa-core and octa-core processors for this range of smartphones.

Speaking about the partnership, Pardeep Jain, Managing Director, Karbonn said, "This collaboration with MediaTek which enables advanced multi-tasking and better performance is our endeavour to introduce devices which can answer every emerging need in the industry."
