Intex mobiles has launched its latest addition to the Aqua range, the Intex Aqua i6 running the quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor (Cortex A7 chip). It is worth noting that the Canvas HD A116 launched by Micromax this year runs on a Mediatek MT6589 processor. The Aqua i6 from Intex has got a display of 5 inch and has a display resolution of 480 x 854 pixels.

The naming of the processor makes it seem that the MT6582 is an older one. It is however, not. The Cortex A7 based MT6582 cpu with Mali-400 gpu was released in quarter 3 of this year. The MT6589 cpu accompanied by the PowerVRSGX544 gpu was released by MediaTek in March this year. The PowerVRSGX544 gpu can be cloced at 286 MHz while the Mali-400 MP2 can ne clocked at a higher speed of 500 MHz. The Intex Aqua i6 is the first phone with MT6582 processor.
The processor is clocked at a speed of 1.3 GHz and is supported by a 512 MB RAM. There's 4 GB on Internal storage that can be expanded up to 32 GB using a microSD card. The storage is not limited to this, as the company also offers 5 GB extra cloud storage via Intex Cloud app. The phone runs the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS. This is a dual sim phone with 8 megapixel primary rear camera with led flash and 2 megapixel front-facing camera. It is powered by a 1900 mAh battery.

The phone supports connectivity via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, EDGE and 3G, and has got apps like bigflix, zapak, Matrabhasha app that enables usage of 22 regional languages - pre-loaded on the phone.
