Bajaj Auto strike petition to be heard on Wednesday - Daily News & Analysis

Hearing on the petition filed by the management of Bajaj Auto Limited (BAL) in the labour court is scheduled to be conducted by judge NS Kole on Wednesday. The petitioner has maintained that the ongoing strike of workers at the company's is illegal.
The petition was to come up for hearing on Tuesday but the hearing has been adjourned till Wednesday.

More than 1,500 workers of the Chakan plant of BAL have been on stop work protest since June 26. The workers have been demanding shares of the company at concessional rates, a new wage agreement and other facilities.

The management refused to concede to the demands of the workers and approached the labour court to get the strike declared illegal. BAL has also got an injunction from the Industrial Tribunal, which has directed the parties involved to ensure that there is no violence during strike.

Vishwa Kalyan Kamgar Sanghatana, the union of the company staff, had called for the strike first. BAL counsel Rajiv Joshi had filed a case. Sanghatna president Dilip Pawar was present in the court to attend the hearing on Tuesday.

The court has issued notice to the Union asking for its say. The management has claimed that the ongoing stop work has not hindered the production much. It has also warned to shift production of Pulsor bikes from Chakan to Walunj plant.
