Express news service : Sat May 18 2013, 02:41 hrs ![]() ![]() ![]() City-based Calyx telecommunications on Friday announced a strategic partnership with ZTE Telecom Pvt limited to market a new brand of smartphones and tablets for the Indian market. The phones to be manufactured in China would be sold through Calyx. Although, ZTE has had its presence in the field of smartphones, for the first time, the company would directly market the phones. "Our previous phones were sold by service providers and other brands and we have been operating in India since last 8 years," said Xu Dejun, CEO of ZTE. The company has manufacturing bases in Gurgaon. Gaurav Somani, executive director of Calyx telecommunication, said the distribution network is almost ready, with the first phone to hit Pune market by June.
