HP SlateBook x2 with NVIDIA Tegra 4 announced - The Mobile Indian - The Mobile Indian

HP has formally returned to the Google Android based tablet segment with the new convertible style SlateBook x2. This new convertible SlateBook x2 arrives with the upcoming NVIDIA Tegra 4 mobile processor. This HP convertible does not look anything like the ASUS Transformer or alike systems that have detachable display from keyboard dock. HP plans to make the SlateBook x2 available in August starting from US region for Rs 26,400 ($480) approximately.

The Mobile Indian had reported about the HP SlateBook x2 spotting at the Benchmarks list last month. The same system has been announced formally by HP.

HP SlateBook x2 features a 10.1-inch LCD display that sports 1920x1200 pixel resolution natively. This display can be attached to a keyboard dock with full keyboard as well as a multi-touch supporting trackpad.

Inside the SlateBook x2, HP has integrated the upcoming Quad-core 1.8 Ghz NVIDIA Tegra 4 mobile processors. HP will offer 64 GB on-board storage though the official press release mentions 64 MB. The keyboard dock features a memory card slot along with SD card reader slot and two USB ports. So far, there is no clarity whether the price includes the keyboard dock as well.

The HP SlateBook x2 will run Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update with bunch of HP as well as NVIDIA Tegra family apps pre-loaded on it. As of now, the company has not specified its plans for releasing the SlateBook x2 in other regions.
