BlackBerry has launches low-cost data plan in rural India for Rs 129 per GB. This must be the most enticing and affordable plan from Ontario, Canada based company anywhere in the world.

In a bid to offer better and pocket friendly services to its users of OS 7 devices, the Smartphone maker Blackberry has brought forth a plan under which one can avail the BB services at a price of Rs 129 per month. However, this plan is made available for 15 various circles in the country.

The service that would be available only on the devices running on OS incluing the Curve 9220, the Curve 9320, the Bold 9990 as well as the Bold 9 and the Z 10, would be made available in circles including West Bengal (excluding Kolkata), Bihar, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Assam, Jammu & Kashmir, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh), Orissa, Punjab, Rajasthan, North East, Tamil Nadu (excluding Chennai), Uttar Pradesh West and Uttar Pradesh East. However, the company has deliberately chalked out the major cities and metros so that they can target those areas which have failed to make a considerable addition to its revenue.

As per the plan, the users would be able to access the email, BB Messenger, instant messaging, social networking, Internet browsing and the BB World application store. The plan includes 1GB of accessing and is being offered by Aircel, Idea Cellular and Vodafone networks.

According to the tech experts, the move by the Canada-headquartered Corporation is believed to be aimed at retaining its market share against the onslaught of Android-based products that are flooding the market at the moment.

Talking about the latest offering, BlackBerry India's Director for Commercial Relationship, Hitesh Shah said," "We are trying to get deeper into market with affordable plans. For 15 telecom circles which excludes metros and category A circles, BlackBerry will offer consumer access to all BlackBerry Services for Rs 129 limited up to 1 GB.For Corporate users, in addition to the above services, they can also deploy BES Express at zero cost of Software license to enable corporate email access even on employee owned BlackBerry devices.
