News stream service Wavii has been acquired by Google for an estimated 30 million dollars. Launched last year, Wavii offers customised news feed to users, summarizes news stories, tweets and blogs. Wavii was created by engineers who previously worked for Amazon and Microsoft and offers services via the web or as a smartphone app, the BBC reports. Apple had also been keen to buy the start-up, as it wanted to incorporate the technology in the Siri function of its devices. Analysts believe that the technology could be used by Google to improve search results for news stories. ![]() via Technology - Google News http://news.google.com/news/url?sa=t&fd=R&usg=AFQjCNEmGtIN2evgd_oG3Wz3Z-kdqabWxw&url=http://www.dnaindia.com/scitech/1828331/report-google-acquires-news-stream-service-wavii-for-30m | |||
