We have been reporting in detail about the new 2014 Hyundai i10 hatchback. The new Hyundai i10 will be launched in India soon after its global debut and has been caught testing in India on numerous occasions. The new car will be sold in India with both diesel and petrol engine options and will battle it out against the likes of Chevrolet Beat and Maruti Suzuki Ritz. The diesel variant of the small car from the Korean auto giant was recently caught in Chennai. The all new Hyundai i10, which has been codenamed as BA, will make its global debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September this year. 2014 Hyundai i10 will offer more interior space and will have a longer equipment list. The interiors will be put together using better quality materials and the car is being expected to offer the best passenger comfort in its segment. The diesel engine which will power the new i10 is a 1.1 liter 3 cylinder turbocharged unit which is currently being offered on the UK spec i20. This engine produces a max power output of 74 bhp and has low CO2 emissions. The top end petrol variants will continue to be powered by the 1.2 liter Kappa2 engine that powers the current car. Replacing the dated 1.1 litre iRDE motor in the entry level variants will be a new 1.0 litre 3 cylinder unit with similar power figures. The i10 is an important car for Hyundai Motors India Ltd and the Indian subsidiary of the Korean car maker has big hopes with the upcoming generation of its popular hatchback.
