Samsung Galaxy S IV won't have S-Pen: report - Firstpost

The report states that Samsung's upcoming flagship device will not have an S-Pen and the home button with other touch keys will still be on the phone. The report quotes industry sources, and adds that while the smartphone will have a "Non-contact Gesture" feature, this detail may have been misunderstood for the "S-Pen Feature" in the device. The report also adds that production has begun for the smartphone. Other reported features of the device, part of codenamed Project J, include a 4.99 inch Super AMOLED Full HD Resolution Display screen with 441 pixels per inch (ppi). The device is also likely to come with a Exynos 5 Octa (8-Core) CPU, Mali-T658 (8-Core) GPU for Graphics. Samsung showed Exynos processor at CES this year. Getty Images The smartphone could also come with Wireless charging. According to reports in Korean newspaper DDaily, Samsung will be selling a wireless charging pad and a dock with the S IV. Currently Nokia's Lumia devices are the only ones that offer the option of wireless charging. But it seems Samsung won't just be launching one phone on 15 March ( the rumoured date for the launch). According to SamMobile, Project J includes a Samsung Galaxy S IV mini and a device that could be a smart watch. The report on SamMobile reads, The Project J line by Samsung is based on 3 devices where just 2 are confirmed and one still needs to get decided! The other 2 devices by Samsung is the Project J Mini which uses the codename Serrano. The Poject J mini Serrano simple hints to the Galaxy S IV mini. This device uses almost the same accessories as the Galaxy S IV only this device can't use the wireless charing dock. The third device could be Samsung's answer on Apple's rumoured iWatch.  The Galaxy S IV is slated for a mid-March release and could be available to India fans by April.
