It is now confirmed that Mercedes-Benz India is readying itself to soon introduce the 2013 version of its big sized, big selling GL-Class in Indian market. The new Mercedes Benz GL will be launched sometime in May this year and will come to us via CBU route. Local assembly of the new GL will begin sometime in the second half of 2013 and we can safely expect a slight price cut once the CKD kits of the mighty GL start coming to us. Powering the new GL-Class is a 3.0-liter, four-valve, direct-injection, turbocharged oil burner that has a max power output of around 250hp and enjoys a peak torque of 620nm. The GL Class is a genuine seven-seater and a thoroughbred off-roader. The GL is said to be the S-class of SUVs and the mighty Merc is arguably the most comfortable way to travel for a large family. As with most of the new Mercs that are coming our way, the GL will initially come with the AMG kit that features 21-inch alloys, sportier bumpers and more pronounced wheel arches.
