REMEMBER Samsung's "Next Big Thing" advertising campaign? The campaign that poked fun at Apple's products and the brand's fans?
Well, they may have been funny to us, but apparently Apple's marketing chief Phil Schiller didn't enjoy the same hilarity.
In the current court case between Apple and Samsung the latter's legal team produced internal Apple documents that "haven't been made public before, and showed how Apple was really concerned about competition from Android, and in particular Samsung".
Samsung's legal team then produced an email which Mr Schiller sent to his team titled "Has Apple lost its cool to Samsung?" which contained just one line: "We have a lot of work to do to turn this around."
Mr Schiller is said to have become "obsessed" with Samsung's campaign, constantly writing to Apple CEO Tim Cook and suggesting new ad agencies, a move which lead to Apple's board discussing the issue.
Mr Schiller will be called to the stand as a witness in the Apple and Samsung trial where Apple is seeking $2 billion in damages from the global company over patent infringements.
