Samsung's flagship Galaxy S5 which started selling in India from 11th April at MRP of Rs. 51,500, is now available for Rs. 46,400 at e-commerce portals- flipkart and snapdeal. Surprisingly, the S5 is still listed on Samsung's own e-store at its original price of Rs. 51,500.
What could be the reasons for the reduction in the price of Galaxy S5? As mentioned by us in our blog of today : http://ift.tt/QBXDmf, almost all the reputed makers of smartphones are feeling the heat for selling their flagship smartphones from the economical variants as the majority of the customers prefer a smartphone upto Rs. 30,000 and beyond this price range, the decision becomes tricky.
The other reasons for reduction in the price of S5 is the launch of HTC One M8 in India at Rs. 49,900, which is going to give tough competition to the Galaxy S5 and if per chance, HTC also drops the price of its premium M8 in the coming weeks then it will be more difficult for Samsung to push its S5 in great numbers. However, these are early days and so far, the S5 is getting good response in almost all the markets worldwide.
But as per our estimate, the prices of all the flagship devices including that of Samsung Galaxy S5 will come down in the coming weeks because these premium devices have reached the saturation point.
