Nokia on Wednesday introduced the newest additions to its family of Lumia devices, and the Lumia 635 will be coming to carriers including T-Mobile, MetroPCS., AT&T, and Aio, an AT&T subsidiary.
The new phone will be the first to ship with the Windows Phone 8.1 update right out of the box, newly announced on Wednesday at Microsoft's Build developer conference in San Francisco. While pricing currently isn't clear, Nokia said the phone will be available in the US this summer.
The Lumia 635, along with the 630, are Nokia's more affordable options. "We have been successful not only in innovating our flagship products, but we have also worked very hard to take that innovation to lower and lower price points," said Nokia chief Stephen Elop, during his keynote at Microsoft's conference.
The phone comes in 5 colors, with a 4.5 inch screen and 4G LTE capabilities. With the revamped Windows Phone 8.1 update, it will feature Microsoft's new virtual assistant Cortana, a rival to Apple's Siri.
Microsoft agreed to buy Nokia in September for $7.2 billion. The deal has yet to close, but will do so soon, likely later in April.
