"We are market leaders in the DSLR market segment. This fiscal year, we are having 55 per cent market share in this segment," Nikon India Managing Director Hiorshi Takashina said.             

In 2012-13, the total market size for DSLR cameras in India was 2.4 lakh units. This fiscal, it is expected to be be around 3 lakh units and around 3.6 lakh units in 2014-15. "This year, although the economy is slowing down, we would have a steady growth of 20 per cent," he said.               

Despite slowdown in the economy, DSLRs would remain in demand as customers having compact cameras (point and shoot) and smart-phones are upgrading to get a better picture result, Takashina said.

Nikon D3300 possesses a 24.2-megapixel DX-format CMOS sensor and boasts AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VRII lens. The camera provides full-HD movie recording at 1080p at 60fps.

Price: Rs 37,950

Full-frame camera Nikon D4S possesses a 16.2-megapixel FX-format CMOS sensor. The camera boasts Expeed 4 image-processing engine and a rated ISO range of 100-25,600. The company claims that the device also allows the user to shoot at 11fps with AF and AE tracking.
