A half-dozen fake Google apps are gone from the Windows Phone Store Monday morning. Microsoft pulled the apps over the weekend after learning the $1.99 apps were published by an impostor masquerading as the search engine giant.
The Internet technology news website, The NextWeb, or TNW, called the fakes to Microsoft's attention.
The fake apps were Hangouts, Google Voice, Google Search, Google-Plus, Google Maps, and Gmail-email from Google. None were published by Google.
