Manipal has some distinguished alumni - Times of India

MANGALORE: It may be celebration time at Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) again. After Satya Nadella's appointment as Microsoft CEO Rajeev Suri of the MIT class of 1989 may be the new CEO of Nokia. Suri now heads Nokia's telecoms network equipment division.

Suri studied electronics and telecommunications engineering at MIT. The institute has plenty of other high profile alumni. Among them are: Anant J Talaulicar (1984 batch), executive chairman and MD of Cummins India; P V Shridhar (1979), senior director of operations engineering, Apple; and Glenville Da Silva (1979), VP of business development - Asia, Volvo Construction Equipment.

There is Arun Shenoy, a composer and music producer based in Singapore. He is also the owner of Arun Shenoy Music Publishing, a publishing house he founded in 2011.

Another notable name is Pankaj Oswal, who was the chairman and MD of Burrup Holdings. He has experience operating major companies and projects in India and Australia.

Businessman and politician Rajeev Chandrasekhar is also an alumnus.
