Though the response for the handset was good in the Indian market and it increased its sales multiple times in the Indian market –to be true I don't know the reason –now Apple can dream of further increasing its sales here in the local market.
Many people may actually wonder as to why a handset that is at least three generations old is still being kept alive in the Indian market notwithstanding the fact that it is certainly not a value for money product.
The handset is being sold in the Indian market for around Rs 21000 or even higher. There are far better handsets available in the market that beat it effortlessly. This includes not just handsets from the Indian smartphone manufacturers but also others from multinational companies like Samsung, HTC and even Nokia.

But now reports suggest that Apple's latest iOS 7.1 update may make the handset a bit more relevant and help it perform better. iPhone 4 cant run many simple apps and games. A frustrated user says on a forum, "iPhone 4 can't even run subway surfers, I own one. It does lag. I don't know from where this myth came from that iPhone do not lags maybe because its users mainly use it for elementary tasks like email, office, camera etc."
But a report suggests that thanks to latest firmware update in the form of iOS7.1, users can experience some improvements in application loading times. A report says that Apple improved hardware and software optimization in iPhone 4. A Firstpost report talks of "visible improvements now in the speed of the phone. Applications open faster, shut faster and so far I haven't experienced any time lag in switching between two of them". So many people are saying that Apple may continue to dump its generations old handset in the Indian market.
