While Flappy Bird may enter the addictive mobile gaming space anytime soon, yet another game has already begun wooing gaming addicts. The new number-crunching puzzle game called 2048 is said to be the new sensation in the addictive gaming segment.
This Candy-Crush kind of game is built by 19 year old Italian programmer named Gabriele Cirulli. The gaming is really easy to understand, and we found it as addictive and frustrating as the Flappy Bird. Cnet describes it as "slightly similar to Threes or Candy Crush for math geeks and it takes only a minute to understand it."
Apart from the mobile app, the game is also available on the web. It was released on the web on March 9th, and has been gaining immense popularity ever since. We wonder if it's the demise of the popular Flappy Bird that led to making "2048" an upcoming sensation in a small span of time.
According to an ANI report, just three days after the game was released, thousands of people had begun playing it at one moment. The report also states that "2048 variants are in full swing, from Doge2048, 3D 2048, Tetris mashup, and even a Flappy Bird-themed 2048 game".
One doesn't need to be a math genius to play the game. One has to simply use the arrow keys for the web version of swipe across the screen to move the tiles. When tiles with the same number touch, they merge into one tile and add the numbers. For instance, if two tiles with the number "2" imprinted on them merge, they form one tile with the number "4". The player has to create the 2048 tile in order to win the game.
Users can download the game from the Google Play store or click here for the web version.
