Three held for robbing Rs 24 lakh from drug company official - Business Standard

Three persons, including a driver and a former employee of a drug company, were arrested for allegedly robbing Rs 24 lakh cash from a company official in a bus here, a senior police official said.

The accused Dhiraj Gurjar (20) and Lokesh Gurjar (25), both cousins, with the help of Ganesh Mishra (34), a mini bus driver of the company, stopped the vehicle near Khurail police station area and snatched the bag containing Rs 24 lakh from the assistant manager of the company on January 9 and fled.

The money was being taken to the drug company unit at Khurail for payment of labourers, Deputy Inspector General of Police Rakesh Gupta told reporters yesterday.

Dhiraj, who was sacked from the drug company three month ago, had hatched the conspiracy of robbery with Mishra and planned the crime with the help of his cousin Lokesh, Gupta said.

Police have recovered the cash from the culprits and a complaint has been registered against them, he added.
