Fri, 17 Jan 2014 9:31 AMSamsung has announced a low-end model in its Galaxy Tab 3 tablet range.
The Galaxy Tab 3 Lite is a 7-inch tablet, ostensibly designed for emerging markets - with a less impressive set of specifications than the already-modest 7-inch Galaxy Tab 3.
So that means a 1024x600 display, 1.2Ghz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and a 2-megapixel main camera.
On the software side of things, the device is running Android 4.2, two versions behind the latest one.
No word on whether the device is coming to South Africa or on a launch price, but the demand for a low-cost, capable tablet in SA means that it should be a no-brainer.
What would the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite retail for then? Well, considering that you can get an 8GB Tab 3 for R2500 off Takealot, we'd assume that R1999 is a feasible price.
