New rumours suggest that Samsung is gearing up to launch its next flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S5, at a special event in London this March.
An Italian technology insider tweeting under the handle @flavio is responsible for the latest speculation, saying it had been confirmed to him by a "reliable source."
Previous gossip had suggested that Samsung might launch the Galaxy S5 at Mobile World Congress in February. However, the immense popularity of its Galaxy smartphones means that Samsung has recently shied away from unveiling premium Android devices at major showcases.
While it's always wise to take mobile rumours with healthy heaping of the saline stuff, the current bout of speculation isn't actually that far-fetched - not since the Galaxy S2 in 2011 has the Korean firm debuted a flagship handset at MWC, and it unveiled the Galaxy S4 in March of last year.
Last year's S4 launch event was held in New York City, so another major metropolis like London might make sense.
If it follows its previous release cycle, that could mean that Samsung will look to nab some of the MWC limelight by doling out invites to its S5 launch event, which it runs under the Samsung Unpacked moniker.
