While the handset maker Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) hasn't still disclosed its plans for rumored android based phone Normandy, a new leaked image now points to the presence of such gadget. The new leaked image of the alleged Normandy comes from Seamissu, a Chinese Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR) user. The user claims that the image is of the rumored Nokia Normandy, and calls it an engineering prototype.
The leaked image displays the alleged android based Normandy smartphone with the Finnish firm branding on the screen, which usually seems when switching on a gadget. Further the image exposes the back button under the display that seems to be a capacitive touch button, alike to what usually seen on the firm's Lumia phones. The image displays the alleged phone in a casing which covers most of the design components of the gadget. This is the very first time a live image displays Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK)'s android based phone, and in the past, people have seen a number of supposed renders of the alleged gadget.
At the start of this month, the rumoured device was leaked in image which shown an entirely custom android interface running on top of the gadget. The user interface appeared reminiscent of the software on the firm's budget Asha line-up, though it was clearly android underneath. A pervious report claimed that the alleged phone has been targeted at the low cost segment as an Asha equivalent smartphone, but with access to more traditional smartphone applications, a benefit that the report proposed had been missing in the firm's dated series 40 based Asha phones. The leaked images also revealed lock screen notifications, dual SIM support, an on-going call screen and a login screen for Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)'s Skype.
On Friday, share of Nokia increased 13 cents, or 1.61%, to close at $8.18.
