Lava Iris Pro series to launch Friday after fixing August 'glitches' - Firstpost

Lava Mobile is set to finally debut its premium Lava Iris Pro smartphone series on 17 January in New Delhi. The phone series was originally scheduled to be launched on 25 August, but despite much hype and fanfare, the device never debuted. The company only posted a Facebook message on its page, saying that it was trying to 'sort out glitches'.

It's been four months since then, and it looks like the 'glitches' have finally been sorted out, and we will actually see the debut of the Pro this week. Information about the Lava Iris Pro is quite scarce, but according to reports, the device will weigh just 114 grams and sport a screen size of around 4.7 inches or more. It could also sport software features like CABC (Content Adaptive backlight control), a fully laminated touch panel and Corning Gorilla glass.

The highlight of the device however, is reportedly the display which will be manufactured by Japanese LCD manufacturer Sharp. The company itself is being quite secretive about the launch, and is trying to generate buzz for the launch with a new "Smart meets Art" hashtag, with the tag line 'Picasso meets Einstein'.
