India's first academic tablet Eddy launched at Rs. 9999

Eddy, India's first Android-based learning tablet for children, was launched on Wednesday by Metis Learning. Targeted at children aged 2-10 years, Eddy comes with interactive learning content and kid-friendly hardware. From 150 learning-based games to fun apps, Eddy is based on the latest research on using technology in education.

Eddy is being offered at an introductory price of Rs. 9,999 till February 20, and at present is exclusively available on Amazon.com and eddytablet.com.

"There is no denying the fact that today's 21st century child lives in a world of technology. However, parents are frustrated with the current technology options available and the negative influences of technology. Eddy introduces the concept of responsible technology, ensuring a safe and controlled technology experience for children with a strong focus on learning," explains Bharath Gulia, CEO, Metis Learning.

This power packed tablet currently comes equipped with over 150 high-quality learning games, linked to school curriculum and covering key learning areas such as language, math, science and creativity. Children can read books, learn to play the piano, explore the world and the universe as well as practice math through games on Eddy. Eddy also comes with an exclusive app recommendation engine for parents, the Kids Radar, which recommends the most suitable learning apps for kids.

The tablet's proprietary technology allows kids to play in a safe zone, with access to only those apps and websites which are suitable for them. Not only can parents set time limits for their children to play on Eddy, they can also decide which subjects their children should focus on. In addition, the tablet also generates detailed reports on what their child is actually doing on the tablet. Three different child profiles can be set on Eddy to ensure that each child gets relevant content as per their needs.
