Lumia 1520, Nokia's first phablet, launched in India - Business Today

Nokia Lumia 1520 launched in India

Finnish smartphone giant Nokia has launched its first phablet, Lumia 1520, in the Indian market. Priced at Rs 46,999, it is one of the most expensive smartphones in the market from the company.

The handset is the first Nokia device with a six-inch full-HD (1080x1920) LCD display and runs on a 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor. It is paired with a 2GB RAM and offers an onboard storage of 32GB.

The Lumia 1520 also supports microSD cards for expandable storage up to 64GB.


Vipul Mehrotra, Director - Smartphone Devices, Nokia India, Middle East and Africa, said: "Large screens are increasingly becoming popular among smartphone users and imaging is one of the key factors that define a good smartphone."

The new handset sports a 20MP PureView camera with optical image stabilisation and 2X lossless optical zoom. It also has a dual-LED flash.

With a 3,400mAh battery, Lumia 1520 has connectivity options like 2G, 3G, 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB and NFC. On the software front, it runs on Windows Phone 8 with Lumia Black update. The Microsoft Office built-in allows to you edit documents on the device itself.

Nokia has also launched a backcover for the Lumia 1520 at Rs 2,999. It is available in yellow, white, black and glossy red color variants.
