The popular social networking site Facebook is reportedly witnessing a significant decrease in the number of its daily users. The interest in Facebook, especially among teens is seen to be falling rapidly. The recent mass studies have indicated that teens prefer using mobile messenger apps such as Whatsapp and WeChat over Facebook.
The social networking giant admitted that the no. of its teen users have declined although they are still registered on Facebook but hardly log in.
According to the Guardian, the mass exodus from Facebook is the consequence of instant messaging and sharing that Whatsapp, WeChat and KaKao Talk and other messenger apps allow through phone.
The unique feature of these messengers is the real-time chatting with different groups of real-life friends that somehow thwart usage of Facebook. People using these messengers can easily communicate and share with each and every contact in their phone, provided the other side has the same messenger too.
Whatsapp, which is being quoted as the biggest messaging app in the world used by over 350 million monthly active users globally put Facebook and Twitter a way behind. The other feature that adds to the preference of these messengers over Facebook is there no advertising policy, giving a more private space to talk and share to the users.
