Facebook has released an updated iOS Messenger app with an added ability to message real-life contacts, who aren't on friends list.
The company announced that the Android version of the Messenger app would become more broadly available after its beta testing got over, Cnet reports.
According to the report, the update also includes ability to see which friends are currently using the standalone app with the help of an icon that appears in a users' contact list.
It will also enable the users to communicate with Messenger app users who aren't Facebook friends, using only their registered telephone numbers.
The app has been introduced with a fresh navigation look for accessing recent conversations, settings, and other people using the app, the report added.
