The customized version of the Motorola Moto X is now available on all major U.S. carriers.

When the 4.7-inch Android smartphone debuted in August, the option to customize with different colors via the Moto Maker website was limited only to AT&T customers. Starting today, Verizon Wireless, Sprint, and T-Mobile customers can also modify their new device to fit their personality.

US Cellular customers are still limited to classic black or white.

"From your clothes to your car, you express your personal style. Why should your smartphone be any different?" the gadget maker asked in a blog post.

The Moto X offers almost two dozen color choices, as well as accent colors to line the camera, buttons, and wallpaper. Users can also add a personalized greeting that appears each time the phone turns on, choose memory size, pick wallpaper, and add accessories.

And, just in time for the holidays, buyers can choose to add custom engraving to the back of the phone.

"Show your team spirit, sport your nickname or give a gift with the ultimate personal touch by adding this free feature," Motorola said.

The $199.99 Moto X arrived this summer with a 1,280-by-720 display, Android 4.2.2, and the new Motorola X8 mobile computing system with a 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro chip. It also sports a 2-megapixel 1080p HD front-facing cam, and a 10-megapixel 1080p HD rear shooter.

Motorola said today that the Moto X will eventually get Android 4.4 KitKat, but offered no timeline for the upgrade.

Last month, Motorola cut the price of the Moto X in half, offering the gadget through Moto Maker for only $99, with a two-year contract. That low-cost deal will stick around "for a limited time," the company said.

Recently, Motorola also pushed out a Moto X camera update via Google Play rather than the usual over-the-air upgrade. Users can download the Motorola Camera app online for a brightened viewfinder that makes it easier to see when clicking photos, as well as an expanded Quick Capture option.
