Samsung's next-generation Galaxy S5 smartphone, said to be launched in January 2014, could feature an eye-scanning sensor. Previous rumors have revealed that the Samsung Galaxy S5 will possibly use a fingerprint sensor, just like the Apple iPhone 5S. According to AndroidSaS, the forthcoming Samsung Galaxy S5 might use an eye-scanning sensor to unlock the device. This futuristic feature will allow users to unlock the phone with their eyes.

Moreover, Samsung has already started working on the sensor which will be first tested on the Galaxy S5. As of now, there has been no concrete information so to whether Samsung will port this technology on the Galaxy Note 4 or note.
Take this rumor with a pinch of salt, as there is little evidence in place in context to an eye-scanning sensor. With the forthcoming Galaxy S5, Samsung will try to strengthen its security features in its high-end devices. Both the Apple and HTC have recently added a fingerprint sensors to lure corporate and enterprise segment.
Few days back, it was reported that Samsung had earlier planned to use a fingerprint sensor on the Galaxy Note 3. But at the last moment, Samsung had to cancel its plan due to unknown reasons.
Samsung is trying its best to use premium features, when it comes to big-ticket handsets. Eye-scanning technology will let Samsung to compete with devices from the likes of Apple (iPhone 5S) and HTC (HTC One Max).
Often criticized for not using high quality materials, Samsung is rumored to use fine metallic materials to build the Galaxy S5. Samsung is also planning to launch F-Series, an upcoming lineup of handsets having premium build quality with metal bodies.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 is said to be announced in the month of January 2014. The device is expected to sport a 5.5-inch Full HD display, 64-bit processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB/64GB/128GB of ROM ( expandable memory), 4G LTE-A, waterproof and dust-resistant, Android 4.4 Kitkat, 16MP rear facing camera with OIS and a 3000mAh battery inside.
