'Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch has high return rate' - Telegraph.co.uk

Matt Warman, The Telegraph's head of technology reviewed the watch and said: "For now, what you can read on the watch is infuriatingly limited: emails and text messages, yes, but not via the Gmail app, which millions of Android users have as their main email service by default. This has to get better if this technology is to take off."

Currently the Galaxy Gear only works with the Galaxy Note 3 Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition, but its compatibility will soon extend to the Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3, and Galaxy Note 2.

It will have a new Androad 4.3 (Jelly Bean) update that Samsung says will provide easier text input, and updated graphics and multimedia.

Some Samsung features and applications will also be updated, including Knox (Samsung's mobile security solution), Smart Switch (which transfers content from other smartphones to Samsung devices) and HomeSync cloud storage.
