INTERNET GIANT Google's web messaging Talk service is experiencing major issues today, with users reporting that messages sent via the service are being sent to the wrong recipients.
The bug affecting both Google Talk and Hangouts was discovered on Thursday, with users revealing that their messages are being sent to the wrong recipients, while some users are reporting that messages are even being sent to people who are not on their contact lists.
As well as sending messages to the wrong people, some users are reporting that they are unable to access the web messaging service.
These glitches must have caused some rather embarrassing situations, and those experiencing the problems have been quick to take to Twitter to complain.
It's still unclear what has caused the problems, but it's thought that the issue has mainly been affecting those who have not had their Talk service updated to Google Hangouts.
Google has yet to respond to our request for comment, but its service status website says that it is looking into the problems.
However, it looks like the glitch might have been fixed, with the firm having told The Verge that "the issue has been resolved and all services are gradually returning to normal", adding that it is "very sorry to anyone affected". µ
