Samsung is perhaps the first international player which has forayed into this segment. By announcing the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Kids, Samsung has entered a so far untouched segment. Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Kids is aimed at the young audience and Samsung has tried their best to make the device more appealing and bright. The smartphone maker has done away with the staid blacks and whites and instead, the tablet comes in a bright yellow colour! A definite change for sure. There's not much change in design and the tablet comes with the hardware button at the bottom and two capacitive buttons next to the hardware key. We wish Samsung had added a few more colour options as owning a bright, sunshine yellow tablet might not exactly be every kid's deepest wish.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Kids comes with a 7-inch WSVGA TFT display with a pixel resolution of 1024x600 pixels. While the resolution is not that great, it should be adequate for kids with all the bright colours and apps to fill up the screen. The tablet runs on Android Jelly Bean 4.1. That's a slightly older version, and we doubt more updates will be seeded to the device but that's definitely better than sticking to ICS or earlier versions.
