That's according to Sammobile, which said it 'could confirm' that the Samsung Galaxy Gear will be unveiled during Samsung's Unpacked event in three weeks time. The website doesn't say where it got the information, but given its record with Samsung rumours, it's likely that this 'confirmation' is accurate. We already know that Samsung definitely is launching a smartwatch too, with the firm's EVP Lee Young Hee having confirmed the launch earlier this year. He said,"We've been preparing the watch product for so long." "We are working very hard to get ready for it. We are preparing products for the future, and the watch is definitely one of them." Sammobile doesn't spill any new details about Samsung's smartwatch device, but we already know that it will act as a 'second screen' for Samsung smartphone owners, offering quick access to things such as notifications and music controls. We don't know what the device will look like yet, or what other specifications it will have, but it sounds like all will be revealed in just a few weeks. The Samsung Galaxy Gear will likely be unveiled along with the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 smartphone, with the firm's IFA invitations hinting at a third generation phablet. This, according to rumours, will be the firm's largest Galaxy Note smartphone yet, with a 5.7in 1080p HD screen. It will also reportedly be the most powerful, featuring Samsung's eight-core Exynos 5 chipset and 3GB of RAM. Other rumoured features will include an advanced 13MP rear-facing camera, Google's Android 4.3 mobile operating system and an included stylus. We'll be in Berlin for this year's IFA conference, so check back then for all the latest details. µ ![]() via Technology - Google News http://news.google.com/news/url?sa=t&fd=R&usg=AFQjCNFXNRxIzqAQ8KksZepJaaFBX8nc4w&url=http://www.theinquirer.net/inquirer/news/2289104/samsung-galaxy-gear-smartwatch-to-debut-at-ifa-on-4-september | |||
