Embedding Facebook posts will now enable users to take them over to other sites. Needless to add, the feature presently is only for public posts and you can rest assured that your private conversations and random soul-baring status updates will still remain private. We just hope there are no "glitches" this time around though. The posts will not just be embeddable but viewers can further view and share the posts directly from the embed. The service has not been rolled out for everyone yet and just like other features, Facebook will slowly roll out the embed feature to all users.
The introduction of Graph Search changed the way Facebook operated search making it easier for the social giant to incorporate features like hashtag and now embeds successfully. While the hashtag feature failed to take off, we can already see media persons and enthusiastic bloggers queuing up outside interesting pictures and posts to embed them! The embed feature is definitely interesting and we do not see any reason why the feature will fail to take off. Image Courtesy: Mashable Facebook Graph Search was touted to be the next big thing in search, as popular as Google. The feature did not live up to the hype (and secretly we are glad) and even the next addition failed to take off. We really do hope for Facebook that the embed feature is more of a help than a nuisance as some of Facebook's most popular features have been till date. Facebook is initially working with pages to let them enable the feature. The cream of the lot to support embeds will be CNN,Huffington Post, Bleacher Report, PEOPLE and Mashable. Facebook sure knows who's going to use embeds most and has clearly and smartly chosen the best of the media portals.
The Pandora's Box of privacy settings is already open and looks like Facebook is soon set to face some more criticisms. However, as long as Facebook continue to stand by what they are doing, as in the past, we see no reason why embeds won't work. We really wish we had an embeddable post or the feature activated to go along with the post but looks like for now, it is only the "advanced" nations who benefit. We poor countries make do with Tweets for the time-being. Sigh! Although we are pretty sure Facebook did not have this in mind when they announced embeds... Moto X – It's Here.
