Netflix Launches Profiles to Solve Odd Recommendations Problem - Mashable

The Profiles feature allows as many as five people or groups to share a single Netflix account. The feature will solve the problem of multiple household members sharing one account and subsequently garnering non-personal recommendations. Now, with separate profiles, each person or group "will get personalized suggestions based on what they watch and rate, as well as separate Recently Watched and Instant Queue lists." "We'll be adding additional devices like the Nintendo Wii and Android soon," Eddy Wu, Netflix's director of product innovation, said in his announcement.
