Upcoming Audi Q3 S base variant to be launched in India in August - Motoroids

The Indian subsidiary of popular German luxury car maker Audi has been very successful in the entry level luxury crossover segment of Indian car market. However, the Audi Q3 crossover, which has managed to become the segment leader in no time, could face stiff competition in near future. What with increasing competition in the form of new Volvo V40 CrossCountry and the likes. With competition looking all set to increase in near future, Audi India are readying themselves to launch a new entry level variant of the Q3. The new variant could be sold as the Q3 S and would make it to Indian market sometime next month. The new entry level variant of the car will be powered by a diesel engine and the car will have a front wheel drive layout. Also, the car will miss out on premium features such as a panaromic sunfoof and CD Changer. This entry level variant would come to India via CKD route. The entry level variant of the Audi Q3 is powered by a 2.0 litre TDI diesel engine in most international market. This variant has a max power of 140 BHP and a peak torque of 320 Nm. The motor comes mated to a 6 speed manual transmission, instead of an auto 'box, to keep the costs under check. The new entry level Audi Q3 S variant could be priced almost INR 3-4 lakhs lower than the current base variant. This means that the Audi Q3 S would go on sale for a price of approx INR 25 lakhs (ex showroom).
